"For Colored Girls"

I believe Tyler Perry has a great mind and creates amazing, funny films. I had a chance to watch his lasted film "For Colored Girls" over the Thanksgiving holiday. I went by myself because i didn't have a date at the, but I feel like I was able to pay more attention to the movie since I was alone. In the movie I feel like Tyler Perry took every colored woman's individual/problem they went through and showed how it brought them down, then with the caring love and friendship of woman who have similar problems or just problems of their own brought them back up. I could honestly feel their feelings coming through the movie. To me the film was a strong message sent out to all colored youth, adult, and elder woman to let them know they aren't alone. A lot of our colored sisters go through hard times everyday, and feel like they have no one to turn to or to ask for help from. The message was to let them know that even though we are all different, your not the only one going through a tough time, your case maybe different; but a problem is a problem and its all the same. You can always turn to your fellow sister for help. The film also showed me their is more to colored women then just color, hips, body, smiles and style. But along with that comes strength and pride and no matter how hard their struggle is, you can never count them out. The film hit on touchy topics/issues and brought them to light, things that are only talked about in secret. The issues that where covered actually do happen, and whether  we speak about them in the dark or the light, they need to be addressed. Overall I enjoyed the movie and appreciate the amount of respect the movie has brought our colored women, a respect that is long over due.

Barry Sanders Jr. Highlights

The next great..???

When it comes to great athletes in football we all know different names and have our opinions, but we all can agree on some select names. Walter Payton, Jim Brown, John Elway, Dan Marino, Jerry Rice, and Barry Sanders just to name a few. They all performed at levels above belief on more then one occasion during their career and left behind great legacies. So what of those who left behind more then just numbers, what of those who left behind someone to pass the torch too? In this case a great NFL running back who ended his career too early has passed on his torch to what I believe could be the next great... Its a bold statement to be made an a big title to carry, but I'm pretty sure after watching his highlights u will probably agree. Now in his Junior season he is one of the top prospects in the country. Running a 4.4 in the 40 yd dash, a 31 inch vertical standing 5'10'' 195 pounds this kids displays vision, awareness, speed and power just like his father. He racked up 1,707 yards and 22 touchdowns. He can catch out the back field and at the wide out position. This young is a pure talent who is a good student to the game, he also plays DB and is a pretty good cover o is the next great maybe.. but for now in my opinion I just say watch out Barry is Coming!!!!! "Wuss sup America talk to me, let me know how you feel about this kid??"

Wale-Poem

A little poetry by artist Wale

Poetry

Poetry is a big passion of mine and sometimes when it seems like the world has me down I like write my thoughts on paper and bring out a different side that I barely show..Just because you write something down and make it rhyme doesn't mean its poetry. To me when words come together and form a picture that you can see in your mind and you can feel the words and understand the mood the writer was in at the time of writing, that's poetry. A great poet in my mind that I like is Tupac, I read a lot of his work, I especially like the poem called "A Rose that grew from Concrete". I think Poetry is a great form of art that doesn't get enough representation that it should get from people around the world. I mean we give a lot of respect and representation for people who sing, rap, dance, act, and play sports.. Well what about the people who create beautiful works of art through words with their mind but not in a song?? Can we give them love too?? Can we start paying them thousands of dollars, for using correct grammar skills when they write? For never giving up on their imagination when they grew up. "Wussup America talk to me??"

Lebron James says Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league on 60 min...

:ast season in a interview Lebron james admits that Kobe is a better player than himself and the best player in the league.

LeBron James 26pts vs Kobe Bryant 35pts 12/25/09 NBA *lakers vs cavalier...

This youtube clip is to all the Lebron fans that said Kobe has a great team and Lebron had no help on his team.. They clearly beat them last season without any problems. Even with Kobe having a better game then Lebron. Kobe 35 - Lebron 26.

Kobe v. Lebron whos better??

Over the past couple of weeks it has been a lot of talk between me and some of my classmates about who is better Kobe or Lebron.. They seem to believe hands down its Lebron James who is a better player because he does everything, he's a all-around player and all Kobe can do is Score. I've been told to bring some facts to the table on Kobe's behalf to support my claim. I mean his Game speaks for its self, but lets start off with Kobe has been apart of the NBA defensive team since 1999. Only missing the cut for the team in 2004. He's been on the 1st team 8 times and made the 2nd team in the 2000-01 and 2001-02 season. But I thought he was just a scorer and a ball hog??? I didn't think ball hogs play defensive that good. He averages 4.7 assist for his career and during his championship season last year he averaged 5 assist a game. But he's a Ball hog right? Last time I checked he plays the 2 on the court which stands for shooting guard. The primary goal of the 2 guard is to score, that's where you put the shooter. Kobe is considered to be one of the greatest scorers in the game today. He recorded a 81 point performance against the Raptors to bring his team back to take the victory. Was awarded the Leagues MVP award in 2007-08 season. And not to mention he has 5 rings to go along with his resume. This is just some facts to support my opinion that Kobe is a better player then Lebron. Lebron is a good player and probably will be a great player when its all said and done but at the end of the day Kobe is just a better player then Lebron.... A great player, and person once said If you can not win on a sorry team then how can you consider yourself a great player...I only mention this because great players such as Magic, Jordan, Bird, Erving, and Kobe never left their teams to join forces with anybody to win a ring. They stayed through thick and thin, good times and bad. Lebron left....this topic is open for debate... So bring correct facts and keep a open mind about everything and come post your feelings on the topic..."Wusssup America talk to me"...

Why do we give praise to crime...

Where has all the good old fashions morals gone… It seems that the stance on crime has shifted over the past decade every since rap has hit the scene. Growing up as children we are taught that breaking the law is bad and to always tell the truth. Over the past decade or so we have seen people promote drug usage, drug sales, sex, and violence. Giving praise to people who have been to jail or to people who are going to jail for committing a crime. Starting rallies and protest saying free *****, even though ***** has committed a crime. Why is it that figures of high status no matter their priory record can get out of legal trouble with 8 months in prison or just a couple years probation?? It has even gone as far as people inflict harm on people who tell police what they have seen or know also known as (snitching), going as far as having stop snitching rallies and rappers going on TV saying they won’t snitch even if the crime happen to them. Which leads me to my question what are we teaching our children America???? This was once the land of opportunity and the home of the brave, but now it just seems that this is the land of guns, sex, and violence where crime pays and honestly lands you in the hospital… Wuss supp America talk to me….???
